We can’t begin to describe how delighted we were when Jennifer and Les approached us with a lovely idea back in October. Jennifer and Les were planning their wedding day at Hebden Bridge Town Hall and wanted to do something a little bit special for the community.
Jennifer moved to Hebden Bridge two months after the 2015 flood event and found it shocking and devastating. Although Jennifer didn’t suffer personally she did wonder if moving here had perhaps been a mistake. They have been moved by the community response and effort put into the recovery and don’t for one moment regret staying in Hebden Bridge.
“It has been remarkable, up-lifting and heart-warming, and has certainly confirmed that my decision to move here was a very good idea indeed. My husband has lived in Hebden Bridge for over 30 years and wouldn’t dream of living anywhere else.”
With that in mind Jennifer and Les asked their guests to donate to Watermark Flood Fund instead of having a traditional gift list.
“Watermark was the charity which struck both my partner and I immediately as the one to choose for our wedding day donations.”
We are so incredibly happy that Jennifer and Les chose to support us this way, it’s truly amazing and one we will never forget.
